Athlete Eligibility Declaration

Calgary Minor Soccer Association (CMSA) is the governing body of soccer; where Calgary Northside Soccer (CNS) is a member of CMSA.

Compliance with the Government of Alberta’s Fairness and Safety in Sport Act is mandatory for all CMSA Member Clubs. Calgary Minor Soccer Association (CMSA) Rules and Regulations have been updated and implemented accordingly:

Any athlete aged 12 years or older who is registering for a female-only competition must confirm their eligibility in writing at the time of registration, in accordance with the Fairness and Safety in Sport Act. Female athletes may still choose to compete in male or co-ed divisions.

Each Member Club are to comply with both the CMSA Rules and Regulations and the Government of Alberta’s Fairness and Safety in Sport Act.

I affirm that I am eligible to participate in female-only competition under Alberta’s Fairness and Safety in Sport Act (Bill C-29).
I confirm that my sex assigned at birth, as recorded on my birth registration document, is female.
I understand that this declaration may be subject to review in the event of a formal eligibility complaint and that knowingly submitting false information may result in disciplinary action.

This requirement is mandated by law, and all CMSA Member Clubs must ensure full compliance.
