Call Ups

Ensure there are sufficient players.  If there are insufficient players,

  1. Determine with the Coach if a Call Up is required.
  2. Contact Team Manager/Coach for CMSA teams or contact info@northsidesoccer.ca for Trialist players.  Ensure you give the Call Up contact sufficient time to recruit a Call Up (5 business days whenever possible)
  3. Check if the Call Up Player meets CMSA Requirements:  Once registered to an age group (U13 – U19), an individual player or team will not be permitted to move to a lower age group in any CMSA or ASA league/competition without the approval of the organizing body, even if the player or team would otherwise qualify for the lower age group during the season.
    • CMSA PLAYER:  Number of Play Up Games (U12+ age groups) – a player who is registered with a team participating in the CMSA League may play up for a total of six (6) games per team in any one season during regular and play off competition. Pre-season, Exhibition, Provincial Qualifier Cup Competition, or Tournament games do not count towards the total number of games the player is called up for. If less than two thirds (2/3) of a game has been completed, the play up will not count towards the total.
    • TRIALIST PLAYER:  A House League player is eligible to play for any CMSA League registered team for a maximum of three (3) games. Any CMSA team who is using a House League player as a call-up is required to submit the CMSA Trialist Form with their game sheet.  Any game sheet with a House League player listed without the associated CMSA Trialist Form attached will result in a default for the offending team. The team will also be issued a default notice.  Trialist form has been attached for your convenience.
  4. Complete required CMSA forms:
  5. Send the form to info@northsidesoccer.ca for a signature.
  6. Print Call Up Name on the Game Sheet and give CMSA forms to the Coach to hand in.  If the call up player ends up not playing the game, cross their name off the game sheet and do NOT submit the form.
