Below is the notification sent by CMSA.

Good afternoon parents, teams, volunteers, and member-clubs,

Over the past two years, we have worked closely with Alberta Soccer and Alberta Health Services to keep our youth on the field. Following the provincial announcement yesterday, CMSA would like to make all participants aware of the following changes (‘Step 1’) in the easing of the public health measures that are effective today, February 9:

Removal of Restrictions Exemption Program (REP)

  • A government issued QR code, negative COVID-19 test result or medical exemption is no longer required for entry into sport and recreation facilities. This applies to all players, team officials, referees, and spectators.

Capacity Limitations/Spectators

  • Sport and recreation facilities must limit capacity to 50%. We appreciate your support in keeping the number of spectators reduced to ensure compliance with the provincial restriction.
  • Please note that the Macron Performance Centre has a one spectator per player limit in effect.

Masks

  • Masks remain mandatory for coaches, referees, spectators, and players.
  • Players may only remove their mask when they arrive to the field.
  • Effective February 14: children 12 and under are not required to wear a mask in any setting.  This however is a provincial directive, and the mask bylaw is still in effect for the City of Calgary. The City of Calgary Face Covering Bylaw (63M2021) requires everyone over two years of age to wear a mask in indoor public spaces.

Food and beverage

  • Food and beverage consumption is permitted in a seated setting with a maximum of 10 people per table.

Screen for symptoms

CMSA will continue to clarify and communicate any further changes as we receive updates and/or as the province moves towards Step 2 and Step 3 in the easing of public health measures.

Thank you all for your continued support and understanding.

Hello CMSA teams, volunteers, and families,

Ahead of CMSA League games commencing January 3, 2022, in alignment with the recent updates to the Government of Alberta’s Restriction Exemption Program, the following measures will be in place to ensure participant safety at all CMSA related league games and events:

  • Sport and recreation facilities must limit capacity by 50%. To manage this, facilities will permit one adult/parent per player ONLY and the spectator and player must enter the facility together.  No youth/sibling spectators are permitted.
  • Proof of vaccination, a negative test result, or a medical exemption, along with government issued ID is still required for all participants ages 12+
  • Masks are required at all times for spectators. Players, team officials and referees may remove their mask when actively on the field of play
  • Dressing rooms will be available 15 minutes prior to, and 15 minutes after games
  • No food and drink services or consumption is permitted on site.

Hello all,

Please see the updated notice from Alberta Soccer Associating regarding the GOA decision to not allow the splitting of fields. This decision was reversed late this afternoon.

Through significant public pressure from within the greater sport community (including what I am told is thousands of soccer people) and with support from Alberta Health we have managed to push the GOA back into allowing field splitting in the manner that was previously being used under the 8&2 model...

  • Physical distancing must be maintained between participants at all times:
    • 3 metres physical distance for indoor activities
    • 2 metres physical distance for outdoor activities

Good Morning Admins & TDs;

Late last night Alberta Soccer received and update on the field splitting guidelines for indoor spaces from the Government of Alberta.

“In accordance with the return to step 1 of the re-opening plan there is no allowance for splitting indoor fields for 8 & 2 group training.

As of today, April 8, 2021, INDOOR FIELD SPLITTING IS NOT ALLOWED. For outdoor spaces we can continue to use space through splitting as long as physical distancing at a minimum of 3 meters between training groups is maintained. Please see the specific language from the GOA below;

  • Only one youth group can occupy an indoor playing surface at a time (for example, arenas, fields, courts or pools).
  • An outdoor playing surface (for example, arena, field, court or swimming pool) may be occupied by more than one youth group, as long as 3-metres of physical distancing can be maintained between groups of 10 and the groups do not intermingle.”

Thanks, CMSA
